Hickman County Future Business Leaders Compete Successfully
The Hickman County chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the Region 1 Leadership Conference at Murray State University on March 2. Students participating competed in a wide range of business events. 
The FBLA also placed in three categories in state competition. And Ben Paul will be going to Anaheim to represent Kentucky in national competition.

Ringo tells students: "We have not created a great place for you."
Jerome Ringo spoke to a hall almost full of young people. Middle and high school students made up the great majority of the audience at Murray State’s Earth Day’s key note speech. A scattering of college students, a few elected officials and some diehard environmental activists lent some age to the crowd.
            Ringo tailored his speech to his audience. He apologized to the students for the mess that his and preceding generations had made of the environment.

A Dab of Paint and a Pint of Hope
Spring is the time to spruce up and two small West Kentucky towns are doing just that. The Hickman County Arts Council put up a four sided quilt display on the courthouse lawn and Hickman, county seat of Fulton County, brightened up some old buildings. Sunshine and paint can work wonders for the soul!
