Boaz moves up to Commonwealth Attorney
Gov. Beshear has appointed Daniel Y. Boaz as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 2nd Judicial Circuit of Kentucky to serve until the general election on Nov. 2, 2010.
 
  • Daniel Y. Boaz, of Paducah, has most recently served as the McCracken County Attorney. The appointment fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Timothy Jon Kaltenbach.

Utilities Inc. reacts to PSC hearing report

Editor's Note: Lisa Sparrow, Chief Operating Officer of Utilities, Inc., the parent company of Water Services, Inc. had this response to Gaye Bencini's story about the Public Service Commission's meeting this past Wednesday.  Her complete comments are published here with her permission. Below is her response to Bencini's noting that Clinton pays a portion of UI's board meetings in Las Vegas.
"....We have over 300,000 customers nationwide with facilities across the country.  One of our systems is in fact just outside Las Vegas and we have held quarterly Board meetings there in the past and may do so in the future.  Our Board Members and Leadership Team Members are located in various cities across the country and we consistently look for the cheapest place to meet in person when that is required and the city rotates.  We do not hold meetings in locations where we do not have facilities.  We would actually be happy to hold a meeting in Clinton; however, customers should be aware that it costs more to travel to Clinton KY than it costs to fly to major cities..."
