Foes of hog farms win in Franklin Circuit
Judge Phillip Shepherd sent nine hog farm permits issued in Fulton, Hickman and Carlisle Counties back to the Energy & Environment Cabinet today to reconsider the permits issued to the farms.
 
The Court also ruled that Tosh Farms should have been named as a co-permittee. Tosh Farms supplies the hogs to the growers. 
 
It is a victory for opponents who have been fighting the industrial sized operations in West Kentucky.

Lowell Reese is reporting solons may have pre-Christmas session.

Gov. Steve Beshear has told legislative leaders to keep the week of Dec. 14 open for a possible special session, according to the The Kentucky Gazette, which reported the scoop this afternoon on its Web site (www.kentuckygazette.com). The paper quotes Senate President David Williams and Senate Minority Leader Ed Worley as sources.

West Ky towns get transportation $$
The Governor announced two Kentucky towns will get Transportation Enhancement funds to improve their downtowns. Greenville will get $412,100. Munfordville will receive $221,500.
