REMINDER: All legislative agent and employer registrations with the Legislative Ethics Commission will expire on December 31, 2009. Blank Initial Registration Statements were mailed in November for the new two-year period beginning January 1, 2010 and ending on December 31, 2011. Initial registration forms CANNOT be filed online.

PSC gives Duke a $13 million dollar increase.
Happy New Year from the PSC, AG and Duke Energy to gas customers in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Pendleton and Bracken Counties.
PSC gives Duke a $13 million dollar increase.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission gave Duke Energy ONLY a $13 million dollar increase rather than the $17.5  million the company asked for.  
Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's Office negotiated the deal and the PSC approved it.  The new charges take effect January 4, 2010.
Coincidentally, in any month the customer uses more than 8130 cubic feet, the rate will increase more than the base rate- which only happens during the winter months. During months customers use less, the base rate decreases.

It's not a stretch to figure out the number one weather story of 2009. Governor Beshear called it the "greatest natural disaster in modern Kentucky history".  The New Madrid quake may have been worse - but there were a lot fewer Kentuckians around to suffer through it.
Other storms included hurricane force winds and tornadoes.
