There were quite a few press releases sent out from state government before it takes a holiday...

*The Governor ordered flags flown at half staff Saturday in commemoration of Walter Baker, former Supreme Court Justice and Kentucky Senator. Baker died May 24th at his home in Glasgow.

*Flags in the Commonwealth will be lowered on May 31st in observance of Memorial Day.

*The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has an enhanced info website based on google maps. It's
511.ky.gov  Road closures will be shown for their full length, amber alerts, major incidents (like accidents, chemical spills) will be on the maps.

*The Kentucky  State Police issued a press release that they will increase enforcement over the holiday.

*The Kentucky Department for Public Health has advice for safe picnic foods and avoiding recreational water illnesses. (Scary that there's a name for it). Temps and directions in the story.

*The 2010 official Kentucky Highway Map features the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
