Dem Dinner Smaller This Year
The Purchase Area Jefferson Jackson Dinner by the Calloway Democratic Party held Friday evening in the Curris Center at Murray State was attended by a smaller crowd this year than last. In June 2009, the crowd was around 400. This year, about 200 hundred area Democrats attended.

Dr. Dan Mongiardo tells crowd - Stand up for big ideas.
Lt. Governor Dan Mongiardo came to Murray Friday evening to the Purchase Area Jefferson Jackson Dinner with his head high after his defeat in a close Senate primary contest with Attorney General Jack Conway.  The margin was a slim 3500 votes.
When asked how he was doing, Dr. Mongiardo grinned and said, "I'm fine. Politics is not life."

Kentucky State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach IV turned up in Murray Friday evening at the Purchase Area Jefferson Jackson Dinner with his dad. Todd Hollenbach, Sr., former Jefferson County Judge Executive. The two Hollenbachs seemed to enjoy meeting old friends in Calloway County.
