Fire in S. Fulton - Chief Hartz always sent photos. It was obvious the pride he took in his department.
Fulton Fire Chief and Twin City Ambulance Service Director David A. (Jim) Hartz passed away at 7:02 AM this morning.
Chief Hartz and his wife Deb came to Fulton, from Deposit, New York, in 1997 after Jim accepted the position of Assistant Fire Chief. Jim was promoted to Fire Chief and Ambulance Service Director in 2007. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton.
Editor's Note: Chief Hartz was great about supporting his firefighters and emergency workers by sharing their hard work and dedication with the press. He is/was the only chief I ever received reports and great pictures from on a regular basis. He sent us a photo just a day ago on a smoke incident in Fulton. I never had the honor of meeting him and now I never will. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife and family.
