US Army to Develop Mood App for Phones

The U.S. Army is developing cutting edge science applications for smart phone use. Their intent is to create a platform to measure the MOOD of the phone user. The National Center for Telehealth and Technology is the primary source for this new approach to monitoring troops feelings. The article attached explains how this science will work.

We at West Kentucky Journal are interested in military affairs as they may have a large impact on the future of Ft.Knox and Ft. Campbell. These two military bases make up a very large component of Kentucky's economy. During the next few years, all US military budgets will be reveiwed as part of mission restructuring and future military threat analysis.

Drug dog visits Symsonia Elementary
RED RIBBON WEEK VISIT – Retired Kentucky State Trooper and McCracken County Chief Deputy Sheriff Mike Turnbow brought his drug detection dog, Aaron, and his explosives detection dog, Shadow, to Symsonia Elementary School recently to demonstrate how the dogs find illegal drugs. The visit was one of many events highlighting anti-substance abuse Red Ribbon Week in the Graves County Schools Oct. 25-29.

Paducah Tilghman team in debate and writing competition

Paducah Tilghman’s Speech and Forensic Team has qualified for the Bickel & Brewer/New York University International Public Policy Forum Debate which began Wednesday, October 27, 2010...The first round of the prestigious, annual competition is a 2,800 word qualifying essay and involves students from across the globe.   This year’s resolution is "Resolved: NATO Military Operations in Afghanistan Are Not Justified."
