Tea Party Tidal Wave -Rand Paul wins

Rand Paul called his victory a "Tea Party Tidal Wave" as he was declared the victor over AG Jack Conway. Paul beat Conway by 10% of the vote.

In a campaign characterized as the worst in the nation, Paul emerged as the conservatively minded, deficit reducing, "taking our government back" candidate. He rode a tide of voter anger over lost jobs, the health care bill, and a Democratic White House that leaned too far left for Kentucky.

Ivan Potter gains Clinton City Council seat

Ivan Potter tied for third place in the Clinton City Council race. The six seats will be filled by five incumbents and Potter. The vote totals were: Phyllis Campbell - 299, Mickey Beck - 290, Ivan Potter - 284, Jeff Morrow - 284, Yvette Thomas - 242, Gilbert Fortner - 238 and Ariel Estes - 220. Estes was the only candidate who didn't gain a seat.

Former mayor Tommy KImbro defeated Howard Dillard 187-165.
