Hickman County Times steps up
Hickman County Times steps up

The Hickman County Times stepped up to the plate in opposition to Water Services of Kentucky’s rate increase today. The paper published a draft letter of protest. The paper added a pdf form to their website for letters. Brian Risner, co-editor of the Times, also published the email address of the PSC.  

Kudos to Brian Risner at the Times for getting the word out about the audacious request for 21.9% more atop the 30% increase they received a year ago.

Columbus has its own water system - taking it over is a concern to county officials
Columbus KY residents petition to dis-incorporate city

Over 50 Columbus residents signed a petition to dissolve the City of Columbus. The petition to "dis-incorporate" the town was presented to Hickman County Judge Greg Pruitt. He in turn presented it to the Hickman County Fiscal Court on Monday evening.
