Lightning strikes again: Arbor Place in Clinton being forced to close

Arbor Place, a nursing home in Clinton, KY, lost its Medicare/Medicaid funding late last week. The facility is being forced to close.  Inspectors found violations that were described in one paper as "life threatening" to patients.

The 85 residents, their families and state government, have 30 days to find them new facilities. The 108 employees will be losing their jobs.

This is the same nursing home that Tina Conner, whose scandalous relationship with Governor Patton, marred the latter portion of his second term. Conner operated Birchtree Nursing Home that was also closed by the state.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 13, 2011) – Gov. Steve Beshear today recognized the sacrifice of a Kentucky native soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Pvt. Brandon T. Pickering, 21, of Fort Thomas, Ky., died April 10 in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire and a rocket propelled grenade in Wardak province, Afghanistan, April 8. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, La.
