MSU wins OVC Tournament

(Nashville TN - March 3, 2012) - Murray State men's basketball team won the Ohio Valley Conference championship today with a narrow win over Tennessee State 54-52.

Murray State's record now stands at 30 - 1.

Brown drops out of First District House Race

(Clinton, KY - March 1, 2012) - First House District Rep. Steven Rudy wasKevin Brown looks at the new McCracken precincts handed another term in the Legislature this week. His only opponent, Kevin Brown, announced he would withdraw from the May GOP primary. No Democratic candidate filed against Rudy so he is unopposed in his bid for re-election.

Brown, a veteran, retired minister and local radio personality, was viewed as a real competitor to Rudy.

Murray grad published

MURRAY, Ky. — Rachael Isom, who is currently a graduate student at Murray State University, was published in the January 2012 edition of Apollon, an online undergraduate publication. 

Isom, 22, is from Cleveland, Tenn., and is a former member of the MSU women’s basketball team. Isom relinquished her final year of sports eligibility to accept a graduate teaching fellowship, awarded to her by the department of English and philosophy.

Kentucky Ranked 8th in Nation for Industry Activity in 2011

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 1, 2012) – In its highest ranking ever, Kentucky has been rated eighth in the nation for new and expanded industry activity in 2011 by Site Selection magazine’s annual Governor’s Cup rankings. The Atlanta-based publication has rated the states annually since 1978.
