(Paducah KY - August 1, 2013) - The ever puckish McCracken County Judge Van Newberry kicked off an evening of Democratic jocularity when he instructed over two hundred Democrats to "hug someone you've never hugged before."

Gathered in Paducah for the 8th Annual Alben Barkley "Burgoo and Bluegrass" Dinner, Jackson Purchase Dems eagerly awaited the appearance of their  newest wunderkid Alison Lundergan Grimes...

SNAP Benefits Will Be Cut for All Participants In November 2013
875,000 people in Kentucky will see a cut in their food assistance benefits this fall, when a temporary boost to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) is set to expire, according to new data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) discussed in a report from the Washington, DC-based Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
