No governor in recent Kentucky history has lost control of his administration in such a short time. Just four months into his administration, Governor Bevin has challenged the status quo of Frankfort politics and has lost the first battle of this war. Bevin is losing on the state budget fight.

Within the halls of Frankfort and in many schools, medical service providers, county and local government offices and in the courtrooms of Kentucky, can be heard new names for the sitting governor. American Stave to locate mill in Benton

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 31, 2016) - American Stave Co. LLC, a division of Independent Stave Co. LLC, will add a second Kentucky mill with the construction of a facility in Benton to produce barrel staves for the bourbon and whiskey industries, Governor Matt Bevin announced today.

The $12 million project will create more than 40 full-time positions and provide the company with additional production capacity and flexibility.

In the first two months of 2016, lobbying spending by health care providers, health insurance companies, and other health-related businesses and organizations totaled about $1.26 million, which is 26 percent of all lobbying spending, and a 30 percent increase over health-related lobbying spending in the same period in 2014.

Marion KY native nominated to 6th Circuit

On March 17, 2016, the White House announced that President Obama nominated Justice Lisabeth Tabor Hughes to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Hughes, a justice on the Kentucky Supreme Court, was born in Marion Kentucky and raised in Princeton.

Being a teenaged girl in the new millennium brings lots of challenges. Learning from responsible, successful, and confident older teen girls and women can make facing those challenges far less daunting! That's why the Mayfield-Graves County Tourism Commission, in partnership with Mayfield and Graves County high schools, is presenting #LIKEAGIRL - A Confidence Summit.

Anthem Medicaid sponsors the event, making it free-of-charge to any middle school girl and her parent in the region who want to attend! Those present can win door prizes valued at $50 each!
