 Chief of Police Tracy House was at the City Council meeting yesterday evening. It was quite a meeting! After the meeting, the Chief shared a picture of a copperhead that he’d taken that day when he stopped to ask a youngster over on East Clay Street what he was looking at.
The boy said “a snake”.
Chief House got out of the patrol car, looked too and took the picture on his camera phone. He assured me that the brown stick looking thing was a very large poisonous snake.
Chief House made sure the young man knew that this snake would not make a good pet- and shooed him on home.
In addition to the usual “watch out for cars”, young folks are being warned to stay out of the creeks.
