Rep. Whitfield contacted Canadian trade officials and raised heck that Canadians did not want any more fruit and bubble gum flavored tobacco products. The ban will decimate tobacco growing in Kentucky, according to a story in Bluegrass Politics by Halimah Abdullah of McClatchy News in DC.
Abdullah reported that Whitfield told the Canadians their actions violate trade laws and the North American Free Trade Act.
