Mayfield Graves carpentry teacher becomes ATC principal
ATC Principal Mike Miller

Mayfield-Graves County Area Technology Center carpentry teacher Mike Miller has been named the ATC’s new principal, starting with the 2013-14 school year.

He came to the school seven years ago, after working in the carpentry business with his two brothers. Their business is known as Triple M Construction. Now, he will expand his focus to other fields, heading the school that also offers classes in welding, electrical, and machine tool technology as well as health science and office technology.

More than 300 of the ATC’s 500 students also attend Graves County High School. Nearly 200 of them attend Mayfield High School and Miller says “a handful” of students come from Carlisle County High School.

Miller replaces Steve Arant, who served as the ATC’s principal for eight years. “… Steve is a real people person, who rarely stayed in his office and generally was out among the students, interacting with them and seeing what was going on,” Miller said. “He will be sorely missed.”
