Brent Houseman is the GOP pick for Frank Rasche’s seat. He told the crowd that he is running for his children’s sake and that in Paducah, people have real hopes and dreams. He said he had counseled couples who can’t reach their financial dreams. Frankfort should manage its budget the way “you manage yours”, he told the crowd.
The Democratic choice to run for the seat, Zana Renfro, is in her tenth year as a McCracken County Commissioner. Currently working for the Easter Seals of West Kentucky, she has been with a number of nonprofit agencies. Prior to running for the McCracken County Commissioner’s post, Renfro spent six years as a Paducah City Commissioner. She recalled going door to door with her husband. She would push one of their small children in a stroller; he would push the other.
