UNION CITY, TN- Mark your calendar and plan to enjoy the Ultimate Aldean experience as Greg West takes the stage for Discovery Park of America's first 2017 Southern Nights music festival on April 1st! The Southern Nights music festivals at Discovery Park are family friendly, with great music, great food and a unique atmosphere, unlike any other! This year, all children ages 12 and under are welcome to attend with an adult for no charge. All other tickets are just $10.00. Park officials encourage everyone to bring quilts, bag chairs and enjoy a fun evening of food, yard games and music under the stars!
Saturday, April 1st the gates will open at 5:30 for guests to enjoy food trucks, pizza tents and yard games. At 7:00 p.m., Cotton Clifton and the Pickers will take the stage. And, then, at 8:30, you will think you are at a Jason Aldean concert as Greg West presents the Ultimate Aldean Tribute experience!
The Ultimate Aldean Tribute is the first of three Southern Nights festivals planned for summer 2017 at Discovery Park. The second one will take place on May 6th, with a popular regional band, 24-7 kicking things off for the Bicho Brothers. The Bicho Brothers will bring the sounds of classic rock to the stage. This group will play classics from the Eagles, the Rolling Stones, Santana, Joe Cocker, Loggins and Messina and more. You'll have a hard time not singing along to this famous cover band. The third Southern Nights festival will be June 10th. The contract is not yet signed, but park officials indicate that this act will be a popular singer who won acclaim on The Voice in 2016. The name will be announced soon.
Discovery Park of America is committed to bringing great music to Northwest Tennessee as part of its commitment to the State of Tennessee's tourism initiative as the "Soundtrack of America." According to event planners at the park, last year's festivals were a great success. "People loved the atmosphere, the food, the music and the yard games," Event Director Lauren Jones shared. "It is a great way to spend the evening for families, couples, seniors....everyone loves the atmosphere at Southern Nights!"
The festivals are held on the Great Lawn at the park. As guests enter, they can set up their bag chairs or spread out their blankets and then choose from a great variety of food. Corn Hole, Frisbee, and other yard games will help entertain the crowd until the music begins.
"We hope that lots of people will come out to our first Southern Nights concert on April 1st," Jones said. "There's no more fun way to spend an evening," she added.
This year's concert series is sponsored by Blue Steel Tool, Inc., Kizer Pharmacy, Leaders Credit Union, Little Caesars, Vaughn Electric and Zaxby's.
Discovery Park of America is located at 830 Everett Blvd., in Union City and is open 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 Tuesday through Sunday. It is a unique blend of history and technology, science and fun.
