Murray State University's Departments of History will host its seventh annual ROOTS Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Lovett Auditorium. There is no admission charge, but attendees are asked to bring canned goods for Need Line. "Our community has been generous in response to our food drive for Need Line. The Department of History provides music to warm us and our donors provide food to care for people in our community. It's a win-win situation," said Dr. Kathy Callahan, History Department Chair.
ROOTS highlights some of the world's great musical traditions. The popular presentations are part of public outreach--one of the many ways MSU gives back to western Kentucky's community and are organized by Ted Franklin Belue, Department of History. "We've got three acts," Belue said, "one of the strongest lineups ever. The artists are seasoned pros, their music is refreshingly different, informed by tradition but not limited to it. We always have a fine show. It's free and offers great family entertainment."
