 Mayfield, KY– The Graves County Elementary School Science Fair included projects from some 25 fourth graders who placed well in school competition.

The top three are pictured here, from left. Avery McClain of Central Elementary won the grand prize of first place and $60 for determining the best environment in which to grow rock candy. Anjona Datta of Farmington placed second, won $30, and investigated the amount of dye in a piece of M&M candy. Carson Sims of Symsonia placed third, won $20, and measured the differences in speed of throwing a baseball from various positions.
