Purchase Area Jefferson Jackson Dinner 2011: Jack Conway – going after the “Bully from Burkesville” | Kentucky, Jack Conway, election 2011, Calloway, Democrat

Attorney General Conway running for second term.

Attorney General Jack Conway ran this time last year for US Senate unsuccessfully against come-out-of-nowhere candidate Rand Paul. Conway was defeated by Paul in a race that received national attention.

Conway is back running to keep his current job for one more term. He told the crowd that the polls look like the voters like him again.

With a record to run on, Conway spoke of battling pills coming into Kentucky, going to federal court to support the Corps of Engineers blowing of the Birds Point Levee and going after gas gouging after disasters.

Conway took point position criticizing candidate for governor David Williams, calling him the “Bully from Burkesville.” He repeated Williams’ claim that Kentucky is adrift, but blamed the candidate’s negative attitude. If Kentucky is adrift, then “David Williams belched the foul winds” that set the state going off course.

Jack Conway had no primary opponent. He will face Hopkins County Attorney Todd P’Pool in November.
