Rep. Richard Heath, House 2, support for charter schools in his platform

(Fancy Farm 2016) - Representative Richard Heath running for re-election to the Kentucky House from Graves County gave the standard Republican stump speech.

If one didn't know what county Fancy Farm is located in - one wouldn't know that Heath is in his district. The truth is that very few Graves Countians set foot anywhere near the political speaking at the Fancy Farm Picnic, so Heath had no reason to defend his seat.

That's not the only reason - he's facing the same opponent, Jesse Wright, he defeated for his first term in office.

So, Heath's five minutes was long on national politics and state issues and short on local issues.

He told the crowd that when he ran, he endorsed the Republican Party platform - then he recited what was on it at length.

Heath urged that the US start over with "real health care" reform, pass a balanced budget amendment and support of charter schools - "no child should go to a failing school"

He urged the election of James Comer as first district US congressman, send Rand Paul back to the Senate and Make America Great Again with Donald Trump.
