TIMELINE 225 will be the starting point of a court square "Walk-Around Timeline" opening during Heritage Days, September 5-9.

The horizontal timeline chronicles 225 years of Hickman County history and coincides with this year's celebration of Kentucky statehood, 1792-2017. "Origins"(shown at left) is the first of ten timeline panels.

This history--a story told in vintage and color photographs--will be located in the windows of the vacant building adjacent to the Historical Society. To create a walking tour, both downtown banks and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce are donating production costs of fifteen additional posters for display around the square. Clinton Bank has provided display space for the main timeline and is contributing funds for a mini-facelift of the doors and windows of the display site.

Timeline 225 was created by John Ross and Liz Jewell. Besides the court square display, plans for Heritage Days include the annual Historical Society banquet, multiple adult and student presentations and museum tours, City Hall refreshments, a Woman's Club display, an appreciation activity for downtown merchants, and the annual Old Hymn Sing.

Heritage Days is a time for Hickman Countians to reflect on the events that shaped the region, and the stories of those individuals who gave Hickman County a truly distinctive cultural history. It's a legacy worth celebrating.
