Coursey to run for Marshall County Judge Executive | Will Coursey, election 2018, General Assembly 2018, Kentucky politics,

Rep. Will Coursey, left, will be running for Marshall County Judge Executive.

Rep. Will Coursey of Symsonia will not be running for reelection. The 6th District Kentucky House member will instead run for Marshall County judge executive.

Coursey was first elected to the legislature in 2008. He leaves after five terms. The 6th District is comprised of Marshall County and precincts in McCracken and Livingston Counties.

Two Republicans, Chris Freeland and Randall D. Fox, both of Benton, have filed for the seat. As yet no Democrats have filed.

Eight other House Democrats won't run for reelection. Among them are Gerald Watkins of Paducah who is running for Paducah City Council and Rep. Jody Richards of Bowling Green who was the longest serving speaker in the history of Kentucky. Richards is retiring after 43 years.
