Paducah, KY - Paducah Tilghman freshman Hadley Pierce has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a Certificate of Excellence from the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, and with a President's Volunteer Service Award from President Donald Trump.

Presented annually by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors young people across America for outstanding volunteer service.

Certificates of Excellence were granted to the top 10 percent of all Prudential Spirit of Community Award applicants in each state and the District of Columbia. Volunteer activities were judged on criteria including personal initiative, creativity, effort, impact, and personal growth.

President's Volunteer Service Awards recognize Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of time to serve their communities and their country.

Paducah Tilghman High School nominated Pierce for national honors this fall in recognition of her volunteer service with Clark Elementary School's Affair of the Arts program and with the Market House Theatre's youth education program.

"Prudential is honored to celebrate the contributions of these remarkable young volunteers," said Prudential Chairman and CEO John Strangfeld. "By shining a spotlight on the difference they've made in their communities, we hope others are inspired to volunteer, too."

"These students have not only improved their communities through their exemplary volunteer service, but also set a fine example for their peers," said JoAnn Bartoletti, executive director of NASSP. "Each of their stories is proof of the impact one young person can have when they decide to make a difference."

Pierce is the daughter of Heather and Neil Pierce.
