Bro. R. Charles Blair has donated to the Hickman County Historical & Genealogical Society a copy of the September 2017 edition of the J. H. Spencer Historical Society's journal, The Spencer Journal, Vol. 9.

The Spencer Historical Society is a group committed to preserving and promoting their Kentucky Baptist history and distinctives. Included in the issue is an academic paper that Bro. Blair wrote and presented to the J. H. Spencer Historical Society in September of 2017.

Bro. Blair's presentation highlights Clinton College and other schools located in Clinton, KY. He describes how Clinton has been the home of five institutions of learning from its earliest days, quite a feat for a small town in the far western end of Kentucky.

This heavily sourced commentary references several historical figures including "Father" Willis White and Miss Amanda Melvina Hicks. It also includes the rousing adventure of James Bruner and the revival that emerged from a lynch mob in the New Madrid Bend.

The story chronicles events from some of the Clinton's earliest days across the many years up to the recent success of the dual credit program at Hickman County High School known as Falcon Academy.
