Eastern Kentuckian Gets Committee Chair

House District 94 Rep. Leslie Combs chosen to lead Administrative Regulations Committee by Speaker Stumbo

Frankfort –
House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced today that a second term legislator, Rep. Leslie Combs, has been chosen to lead the Administrative Regulations Subcommittee, House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced today. Combs' 94th District made up of parts of Harlan, Letcher and Pike Counties borders Stumbo's 95th Floyd County District.

“This committee keeps close tabs on the literally thousands of rules that various state agencies have enacted, rules that have the same force as law,” Speaker Stumbo said.  “Having the right person lead this effort is crucial, which is why Leslie is ideal for this job.”

“I’m honored to be given this responsibility,” said Rep. Combs, D-Pikeville.  “There is a lot of work in front of us, but I am ready to hit the ground running, to make sure the committee fulfills its watchdog role in the best way possible.  We need to make sure these regulations uphold the legislative intent of the laws they are based upon.”

While a newcomer to the House, Combs is a member of the politically savvy Eastern Kentucky Combs family.
