Civil War Days - Y'all Come- Even You Tourism Types

Since the Kentucky Department of Parks has not responded to our request for an email advertising OUR Columbus-Belmont State Park Civil War Days this weekend as they sent out to advertise Perryville's Civil War Days, ("45 minutes from Lexington")  we are doing it ourselves.

ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
(There may be a small charge to tour the Museum)

One "out of phase" microphone disrupted the already controversial Ryan appearance on KET
KET - Microphone Dysfunction at Monday Debate
Yes, Virginia. There was a sound problem at KET Monday night. It was caused by a naughty microphone that only misbehaved during the challenger's portion of the program.  And yes, there is a Santa Claus..

Parks Department Plays Favorites
My Last Word on this Subject: Yesterday I got a press release from Cindy Lynch, Park Manager of Columbus Belmont Park. The release from the Department of Parks dated October 3rd was about Columbus Belmont Civil War Days.  I went back through my emailed press releases and we had not received the press release Cindy snail mailed us.  So, I owe the Parks an apology. But what I still want to know is why no word from anyone in Frankfort - and yes, the PTBs saw my temper tantrum. I really don't mind being told I'm wrong - but I do hate getting it by snail mail days after the event is over.
Editor’s Note: Some days I think we are being ignored by Frankfort here in far western Kentucky. Other days I KNOW we’re being ignored.
When a press release came from the Parks Department advertising Perryville Battlefield's Civil War Days, ignoring Columbus Belmont Civil War Days the same weekend, my blood pressure spiked!  Stretcher, anyone?

For those of you who think our complaints about the news coverage offered by the Paxton Family Empire is unfounded paranoia, here’s a couple of reminders that even paranoid people get it right sometimes.

...The Paducah Sun published NOTHING of the substance of the Ryan KET appearance or of the Whitfield statement afterwards.  Not on Tuesday. Not on Wednesday. Not on Thursday.

... This week Ryan Alessi at the Lexington Herald picked the 1st Kentucky House race of incumbent Steven Rudy against challenger Mike Lawrence as one of the top ten races to watch in the state. Lawrence, McCracken Circuit Court Clerk, raised $63,032 and had $56,837. Republican Rudy raised $39,925 with $36,617 on hand. That’s very close to a 2:1 fundraising advantage for Lawrence. The Paducah Sun completely ignored the story.
