Dr. Robin Reams, a Berea oncologist and member of Physicians for National Healthcare Program, presented HR 676 Single-payer Healthcare plan to the Democratic Women's Club of KY in London this past weekend.  "No other industrialized nation allows its citizens to go bankrupt due to medical bills!" said Dr. Reams.

Stateline.org  has an indepth story of unemployment state by state with a nifty click on to see state by state stats. One excerpt from the story:
"In March, the unemployment rate moved to 8.5 percent nationally, compared to 4.9 percent in December 2007 when the recession began. By the end of this year, the rate is expected to reach 9.5 percent, still shy of the nation’s post World War II peak of 10.8 percent in November and December 1982.
Currently, more than four unemployed workers are available for every job opening and nearly one-quarter of jobless workers have been unemployed for six months or longer, according to the Economic Policy Institute, a research group that supports low- and middle-income workers. Since the start of the recession, new job creation has declined by more than 30 percent, reflecting companies’ reluctance to hire new workers or replace those who leave..."

Guest Editorial: HEALTH CARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT!
 A detailed and comprehensive health care bill has been RE-INTRODUCED into Congress that would allow everyone access to a doctor or hospital of their choice when needed and without any payment; that bill is HR 676, National Single-payer Health Care.  Healthcare is a right for everyone in the USA and the time has come that it actually can be, IF HR 676 is passed into law.  HR 676 would be publicly funded, similar to Medicare.  HR 676 would cover all necessary care including dental, vision, doctor, hospital, nursing home, mental health, home health, hearing aids, prescription drugs, etc.
