Al Cross to MC Fancy Farm Speechifying
Former reporter Al Cross will be the emcee at the Fancy Farm Picnic next Saturday.  This is quite a change of gig for Cross who spent his journalistic first Saturdays in August sweating out a story from West Kentucky for the Courier Journal in Louisville.
Fortunately for Al, the hijinks of years past - marches, skits, drowning out the speaker with catcalls and chants - have been quieted somewhat by the increased presence of law enforcement in recent years.
Cross can be ringmaster where past emcees have been lion tamers.

The pig was the real star of a five county Democratic Rally held on Saturday. About a hundred hungry River Countians turned out for pork and political rhetoric.
