Kentucky battery research and development funding receives U.S. House approval

$5 million for research, development and engineering of advanced energy storage systems

From the press release".....No date has been set for a vote in the Senate on the DOD appropriation. Talks are already underway to find a suitable location for the Kentucky R&D facility in Central Kentucky."
YO. Governor.
We have huge open spaces out here in West Kentucky perfect for large battery operations.

Governor's plan: lure senators to exec for benefits

Wow. Lowell Reese has taken three weeks to come up with a post on his blog, but the result is well worth the wait. His analysis of how Governor Steve Beshear is working to get a slots bill passed before the 2010 session is old time analytic journalism at its best. The answer? Turn a red chamber blue by luring away senators with juicy jobs and juicer retirement packages.
Reese documents how the Law of Unintended Consequences may weaken the Republican majority in the Kentucky Senate. It seems a little known law passed in 2005 under Governor Ernie Fletcher allows legislators with the time in to retire to work in government for three years and use their full time government salaries as their “high three” to calculate their retirement pay.

Uh oh. Is the USPS in trouble?

The Government Accounting Office said Tuesday tha tthe USPS is now on the GAO's "HIgh Risk List". That can't be a good thing.
