KET decision to drop debate may improve process

Joe Gerth gives Rep. Ed Whitfield the "credit" for killing off KET's debate schedule. Whitfield refused to debate opponent Heather Ryan (who would have eaten his lunch). Instead, Whitfield got to air a commercial on KET under fairness rules.
Other Kentucky pols have chipped away at the debate. Remember Jim Bunning's Cliff Notes? Did you see Rep. Ben Chandler debate his opponent on KET?  Senator McConnell took a pass on debating Bruce Lunsford on KET.

Gerth makes some good points.  Keep an open mind and read to the end.
