Sen. Rand Paul will announce his own budget plan to cut billions from the federal budget this week, according to a story in Politico.com written by Manu Raju. 

Raju also reveals who Paul asked to be his Democratic mentor in the Senate (each newby gets a GOP and Dem mentor).  The revelation made the whole story worthwhile reading.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2011) – Gov. Steve Beshear today recognized the sacrifice of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
