FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 30, 2011) — The National Education Association announced today that Gov. Steve Beshear of Kentucky is this year’s recipient of the America’s Greatest Education Governor Award. The annual award recognizes and honors governors who have made major, state-level education strides that improve public schools.

New job serves as homecoming for Graves girls’ soccer coach

Graves County High School’s new girls’ soccer head coach is Kayla Jones Sims. She takes the reins from Abbie Morris, whose first year as the Lady Eagles’ coach was Sims’ senior year as a Lady Eagle! Another twist to the homecoming is that Graves County’s boys’ soccer head coach is Zach Sims, who Kayla Sims married earlier this summer!

The Hickman County Museum's wedding display showed off styles from many eras. Among those on display - a mini dress, nineteenth century bridal gown, and gowns with trains long enough to please a princess.
