(Hickman KY, February 14, 2012) - Back on September 29 several congressional leaders including Congressman Ed Whitfield and Senator Rand Paul met in Hickman to discuss the need to dredge the Elvis Stahr Harbor... fast forward several months...

On Friday, Feb. 10 Lawrence Thomas from the Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District contacted Greg Curlin Hickman-Fulton County Riverport Authority Director informing him that plans were in the works to dredge the harbor in Hickman this summer, sometime after July 1.

Governor calls for expansion of preschool
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 16, 2012) – ... Surrounded by preschool students at Dixie Magnet Elementary School in Lexington, the governor called for raising the eligibility level for 4-year-olds in families whose income is at or below 160 percent of poverty level in Fiscal Year 2014 and increasing it to 200 percent by the end of his term. The expansion is part of the Governor’s biennial budget proposal now before the General Assembly.
