Common Core Standards Initiative - getting everyone on the same page

(Clinton, KY – August 1, 2012) - A new educational movement is sweeping the US. The Common Core State Standards Initiative has been adopted by forty five states and three territories. Nebraska, Virginia, Alaska, Texas and Minnesota are the only remaining uncommitted states. Kentucky adopted the standards in February 2010.

BOLO out for driver with concrete wheels

UPDATE

KY 3061 has been repaired at this site.  We continue to ask the public for information on the vehicle that damaged the fresh concrete and forced a delay in reopening the roadway.

 The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is requesting the assistance of the public to locate the driver of a vehicle that disregarded several Road Closed signs and moved a Road Closed barricade to drive through freshly poured concrete on KY 3061 in Hickman County sometime today.

PSC to conduct public comment meeting on Big Rivers application
FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 30, 2012) – The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold public meetings next month in Paducah, August 13th and Henderson, August 14th, to receive public comments on an environmental compliance plan and associated environmental surcharge request submitted by Big Rivers Electric Corp.

The public comment meetings will be preceded by an information session during which PSC staff will explain the environmental compliance review process and the legal basis for the surcharge. The presentation will include an overview of the Big Rivers application.
