Hemp Supporters remain hopeful

(Frankfort, February 28, 2013) - At a press conference in the Capitol today, Ag Secretary Comer, Senator Robin Webb and Represenative Damon Thayer expressed optimism that Senate Bill 50 will get a vote in the House.

US House of Representatives Passes Violence Against Woman Act

Vice President Biden issued a press release upon House passage of the Violence Against Women Act. The Senate has already acted, so the Act is now again the law of the land. Biden has been a champion of the Act for many years. Here's in part what he said:

...The urgent need for this bill cannot be more obvious. Consider just one fact—that 40% of all mass shootings started with the murderer targeting their girlfriend, or their wife, or their ex-wife. Among many other important provisions, the new VAWA will increase the use of proven models of reducing domestic violence homicides...

Three Graves County Students achieve in carpentry competion

Graves County High School senior Austin Dowdy recently placed third in the SkillsUSA regional carpentry competition at the Skilled Craft Training Center of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Sophomore Zach Fulcher recently placed third in the SkillsUSA regional first year carpentry competition.

Sophomore Kobe Burnett recently placed second in the SkillsUSA regional first year carpentry competition
