A new Gatlinburg envisioned in Eastern Kentucky

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce produced a study recommending a Gatlinburg-like development in Eastern Kentucky. That is if the region can get high speed internet and counties go wet.

It seems that somebody finally noticed that coal is no longer their ace in the hole. (DUH.)

Well done story - worth a read - Western Kentuckians should take a hard look at the tourism dollars region by region.

There's money to be made in the mountains. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the jobs won't be minimum wage and the development will benefit the region and not multi-national chains.
