GOP Presidential Caucuses set for March 5th

UPDATED UPDATE 3/2/16 : The Washington Post is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson will tell his supporters he cannot see a path forward to the nomination. (Jeb Bush suspended his campaign about a week ago.)

If that means he is suspending his campaign, the field for Saturday is four - Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, John Kasich.

UPDATE: As of February 10th, the field drops to six. Chris Christie and Carly Fiorino are now out.

As of February 3rd, it looks like candidates are down to eight. Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum and Sen. Rand Paul have suspended their campaigns.

GOP presidential candidates will be on the March 5, 2016 caucus ballot in Kentucky.

...Every single year, more than 30,000 Americans have their lives cut short by guns -- 30,000. Suicides. Domestic violence. Gang shootouts. Accidents. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have lost brothers and sisters, or buried their own children. Many have had to learn to live with a disability, or learned to live without the love of their life...

The United States of America is not the only country on Earth with violent or dangerous people. We are not inherently more prone to violence. But we are the only advanced country on Earth that sees this kind of mass violence erupt with this kind of frequency. It doesn't happen in other advanced countries. It's not even close. And as I've said before, somehow we've become numb to it and we start thinking that this is normal.

And instead of thinking about how to solve the problem, this has become one of our most polarized, partisan debates -- despite the fact that there's a general consensus in America about what needs to be done...

PSAD Opening Reception for Master Artist Program Preview January 21

Paducah, KY (January 11, 2016) - Paducah School of Art and Design (PSAD) will host an opening reception for its annual showcase of works by nationally recognized master artists January 21.

The reception for this year's exhibition titled, "Over the Top," will be held from 5-7 p.m. the Clemens Fine Arts Gallery located on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC). The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

BRENT BURCHETT OF MURRAY NAMED DIRECTOR OF VALUE-ADDED PLANT PRODUCTION DIVISION

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles announced that Brent Burchett of Murray will serve as director of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Division of Value-Added Plant Production.

Brent most recently served as program director for the Kentucky Soybean Promotion Board and Kentucky Soybean Association. His duties included monitoring policy and regulatory issues, developing water quality research programs, and managing outreach initiatives to connect farmers with consumers. He also led the Kentucky Livestock Coalition, an alliance of the state's veterinary, livestock, poultry, and grain associations.

Brent's family has farmed in Calloway County for three generations. He is a graduate of the Kentucky Agricultural Leadership Program, served on the West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Grassroots Committee, and was a representative on the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service State Extension Advisory Council.
