Governor Names West Kentuckians to Big Transition Team

From PolWatchers

Beshear names 204 people to transition team

Incoming Gov. Steve Beshear named a whopping 204 people to his transition team, which will be charged with laying the groundwork for the administration and helping vet applicants for top appointed posts.

The new 204 different people (one was named to two different group) are in addition to the 10 transition team leaders Beshear announced last week, bringing the total number of individuals to 212.

By way of comparison, that's nearly double the 118 people Gov. Ernie Fletcher tapped for his transition team four years ago.

All of the members on Beshear's transition team are volunteers. More than half donated to Beshear and running mate Daniel Mongiardo's campaign: 110 of them gave nearly $150,000. (See Friday's Herald-Leader for more)
