Morgan Assistant Principal Greg Ross has been selected by the McNabb Site Based Decision Making Council to be principal at McNabb Elementary.
“We are very excited about having Mr. Ross join our McNabb Family,” said Mariann Lankton, who chaired the principal search committee. “He brings many leadership gifts that will enhance the McNabb learning environment. Mr. Ross stood out as someone who can help us meet the needs of all of our students and help us move our school forward in meeting all of our goals. Mr. Ross attended McNabb as an elementary student. This return to his home school gives him a unique perspective on leading McNabb into the future.”
Ross began teaching in 2005, and has served at Cooper-Whiteside Elementary, Morgan Elementary and H.B. Slaughter Elementary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ross received his B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Oral Roberts University. He has a M.A. in Recreation and Leisure services and also a M.A. in School Administration from Murray State University. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the field of Educational Leadership at Western Kentucky University.
Ross is a current member of the Educational Professional Standards Board. He also serves as the Ethnic Minority Director for KEA and is on the Board of Examiners for NCATE. He serves on the board of United Way of Paducah.
Ross replaces Kim Bryant, who retired in December 2010 after serving as principal at McNabb for thirteen years.
