Graves County students sing for local nursing homes

SHARING THEIR SONGS – The "Sedalia Singers," a fifth and sixth grade choir from Sedalia Elementary School, recently visited three area nursing homes to share musical cheer with the residents. The choir performed at Heritage Manor, Mills Health and Rehab, and Green Acres Nursing Home.

The residents hummed and clapped along to tunes such as "Rockin' Frere Jacques," "Down by the Riverside," "Aiken Drum," and "Shenandoah." Fifth grader Benjamin Phillips also performed "Amazing Grace" on the piano for the residents.

The group rehearses weekly and performs at different places throughout the year. Sedalia music teacher Stephenie Wheeler conducts the choir.
