Let's Hear It for the Band

NO TOOLS LOANED PROVIDED
BLUEGRASS MUSIC -
& THE HOOK FOR LONG WINDED POLS
A Frankfort band performed at the 128th Annual Fancy Farm Picnic and Political Speechifying on August 2, 2008. The band, No Tools Loaned was formed in early 2000 according to their website.  www.notoolsloaned.com. Jack Burch, Scotty Campbell, Mike Sudduth and Wesley Atha provided a toe tapping variety of songs before the event began.  The crowd, hot, sweaty and packed in like pickles in a Mr. Vlasic jar, still clapped and sang along with the band.

As the main event began, Moderator Rocky Adkins asked the band to play when a speaker went past their time.  Like the vaudeville hook that dragged unwilling performers off the stage, the music drowned out any more attempt to overstay his/her welcome.  Gerald Watkins, Paducah city commissioner and political science professor, served as time keeper and held up a colorful piece of cardboard to signal time slippin' away.

Senator Bunning was the only speaker to get the musical hook. He looked a little confused as the band began to play. Loudly.

No Tools Loaned has played on the Derby Train and at events throughout the Bluegrass. When in the center of our universe (AKA the Golden Triangle) we recommend checking out this enjoyable music group.
