Tilghman's Samuel Lambert Named GE - Reagan Scholarship Semifinalist

Paducah Tilghman senior Samuel Lambert has been named a semifinalist in the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. He is among 120 semifinalists nationwide in the scholarship program based on the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship demonstrated at school, at the workplace, and within the community. The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program is funded by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, with up to 20 finalists receiving a total award of $40,000 on the basis of continued enrollment at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.

Lambert is an AP Scholar with Distinction, was selected as a Paducah Bank Teen of the Week, and a Coca-Cola Scholarship semi-finalist. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Interact Club, Varsity Academic Team, PT Ambassadors, Baptist Health Care Exploring Post 2501, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sustainability Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. Lambert is a founding member of the Robotics Club. He is a volunteer for Starfish Orphan Ministry and is preparing to go on his second mission trip to El Salvador.

Lambert has played on the Tilghman Golf Team for seven years, the Tennis Team for four years, and the Soccer Team for three years. He received the KHSAA Academic All-State First Team for Tennis award and two KHSAA Academic All-State First Team for Soccer awards. He was chosen to receive the 2019 Varsity Soccer Student Athlete Award and was selected as the School Winner for the Heisman High School Trophy Trust's Scholarship Program.

For the past two years, Lambert has been a Student Intern on the Paducah Human Rights Commissionand is serving as a chair of the PHRC Student Intern Youth Involvement Project. He is a three-year member of the Paducah Pathfinders for UNESCO Creative City and serves as the Information and Quality Officer. Lambert is a two-year member of the Paducah Bank Teen Ambassadors and is a member of their Alumni Board. He is serving in the Mayor Student Intern program. Lambert is an alumnus of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce's Youth LEAD Program and was selected as the Youth LEAD Teen of the Year for 2019. He attended the Kentucky Governor's School for Entrepreneurs and Kentucky Governor's Scholar Program. He has received two Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassador awards. Lambert recently won 1st Place in the Veterans Day Essay High School Division and 1st Place in the Paducah NAACP Martin Luther King Essay Contest.

Lambert is the son of Sarah and Jim Lambert.
