Dems came from all over the Purchase to hear the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor Crit Luallen and Treasurer Todd Hollanbach.  Dems came from all over the Purchase to hear the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor Crit Luallen and Treasurer Todd Hollenbach and Party Chair Charlie Moore speechify and to spend an evening eating prime rib and talking politics.  The Curris Center was the spot to be on Friday evening for over 300 Purchase Area Democrats. At right, Mongiardo aides wait for their boss to stop talking to Channel 6 news so they all can get out of the 100 degree heat.
Party Chair Charlie Moore brought new executive director Kyle Cox to the far end of the state to introduce him to West Kentucky politics. We chatted with Kyle and were impressed by his willingness to listen. Cox told us that the old ways of politics weren't all bad and the new ways weren't all good. He hopes to blend the best of both.
Fulton County Judge David Gallagher spoke with Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo on Friday evening.  Mongiardo's rival in the May 2010 primary didn't make it to West Kentucky. He had a prior commitment in Eastern Kentucky.

There is nothing that McCracken County Judge Van Newberry loves to do more than mess with the press. Don't know what the Judge said to the Channel 6 news crew, but the cameraman (striped shirt) looks terrified.
The Calloway County Women's Club Chorus sang "The Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America". They are an excellent choir and almost made us forget to miss the song styling of Court of Appeals Judge Shay Nickles (shown below) - who was in attendance Friday night along with Supreme Court Judge Bill Cunningham and local circuit and district judges.

McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden told us that crime fighting is becoming more and more high tech with cyber- offenders on the rise.
