Not bad for less than a month's work

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2009) -- Gov. Steve Beshear today announced that his re-election campaign had raised more than $460,000 in less than a month of active fund-raising.

"I'm gratified by the breadth and depth of support our re-election efforts have garnered in such a short span of time," Gov. Beshear said. "I think it's a strong indication of the support for our efforts to reform the culture of Frankfort and move our state forward during the most trying economy in decades."

Gov. Beshear announced that Mayor Jerry Abramson was joining his ticket on July 20, but the new ticket did not begin active fund-raising efforts until September. For their first fund-raising report, more than 560 people contributed to the campaign.
