Kentucky's jobless rate increased to 11.2% in October

 Changes between October 2008 and October 2009

-Overall employment down 4.3%
-Nonfarm employment down 81,900 jobs
-Government sector down 3,100 jobs
-Financial sector down 4,000 jobs
-Leisure and hospitality down 1,600 jobs*Construction sector down by 17,600 jobs
-Manufacturing down 32,900 jobs
-Retail, wholesale trade, transportation and utilities sector down 18,600 jobs
+Mining and logging UP 400 jobs because of hiring in the coal mining industry
+Education and health UP by 600 jobs
