Big Box Shopping Inserts
Ivan Potter Walgreen’s and CVS fight a media war each week. They both dump out their inserts in local newspapers with over a hundred items on sale in each one. These inserts are targeted to the female of the house.
CVS seems to stress or profile more cosmetics than Walgreen’s. Of course this is one of the highest profit making items in the store. Each insert is also aimed to be distributed into a 20 mile radius from the base store. Within this market zone is an average of 30,000 population.
