Mark Green defeated incumbent Sheriff John Turner and another candidate in the Hickman County Democratic Primary in May. Since then, the Republican sheriff’s candidate withdrew his name from the ballot and the only other candidate in the race is write in Eugene Morris, Green is a lock to take office in January.

But, rumors have swirled around Hickman County in recent months that Green has another job and is no longer interested in becoming Hickman County Sheriff.

We caught up with Green at the Fancy Farm Picnic and asked him to comment. Green denied he has another job and told us that he’s looking forward to serving as Hickman County Sheriff.

He’s bought a house in Clinton and is renovating it. As part of the renovation, there’s new siding in a familiar color – green.
